My K-1 Journey

As I write this blog I can’t help but be amazed on the goodness and faithfulness of our Sovereign and good God.  He alone made all these things possible.  He alone made all these come to reality and fruition and now, me and my husband, are reaping the harvest of joy, peace and contentment of being together as we look forward to many more adventures and challenges ahead of us as we journey through life as husband and wife.  And in all these we will boldly go through by God’s amazing grace.  Thank you Lord!

  1. Hi there :), nakita ko sa mga post mo na may mga malaking agwat yung mga dates mo..personal choice mo ba na hindi muna gawin or yan ang nasa instruction?

    -Jane

    • Well yung iba is you have to wait for the instruction. Like with getting the visa, you need to wait for the approval of your petition first before you can proceed with applying for your visa. Yung gap siguro is the waiting period. But when I filed for my Adjustment of Status here in the US, I had to wait kasi I still had to collate some documents.

  2. Hi, Meeyah, I’m so blessed with your blogs here 🙂 Thanks to God coz I found your blogs! 🙂 Id like to ask if your fiance ( your hubby now) got an immigration lawyer when filing the K1 visa? 🙂

    • No, we didn’t get any lawyer. Kami lang ang nag-ayos. We just followed the step by step instruction on the USCIS site, US Embassy site and even a big help was the instructions on visa journey. God bless! 🙂

      • Hi Meeyah, thanks for the reply. Yeah, the immigration lawyer was asking us a big amount of money 😦 USD 500 each… so including my 2 kids about USD1500. Anyway, we still have more time to pray about it 🙂 God bless you more 🙂

  3. Hi meeyah!

Ive been searching for forums that might help me through my journey, but they make it more hard to uneerstands and felt complicated.
Since yu already had the experience, I wish u could help me on some stuff if u dont mind.

    Heres the situation.

My fiance hasnt come here for the past 2 yrs bcoz his company wont allow him a vacation for more than 2weeks and ofcourse traveling from usa to philippines for just 2 weeks isnot practical. His citizenship is still on process and we were thinking if i can apply for tourist visa so i can go there instead of him here.
If ever ive been approved and lets say im currently in the usa and my fiancegot his citizenship approved as well, then filed the k1visa petition, do i still need to come back to tye philippines for the proper processing or i can just wait for the approval while im in america? Dont u think it will be a bad record to stay in america while we have a pending petition?

I badly need your help bcoz i dunno anyone who can help me on the process..
Shoild i go for the tousit first?

Your answers will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much i advance and if its not too muc to ask please email me at

  5. Hi Meeyah!
Just wondering if you are still active in replying happy heart’s day by the way!
I like your blog its very inspiring and helpful. Just thinking if you could lend some more advice in the K1 process any email that i can reach you as i searched through your blog but couldn’t find the contact.. thanks & Godspeed!

  6. hello po:)
bigla naman po ako kinabahan..aun po,im worried about the interview..i cant speak english fluently but i can write it well..aun po pinapayagan po ba nilang iexpress ung sarili ko in my own dialect?kakawindang..aun po sana po matulungan nyo ako…:D

    • Hi Julie,
I think you can request for a translator during the interview. Kasi during my interview I saw someone translating for the consul. There are Filipino staff there naman. God bless on your interview. When is it gonna be?

  7. Hi … I’m so inspired with your blog.. I just have a question.. I just got approved for my K1 visa last march and I’m now scheduled to go to the US to marry my fiancé.. Nasa instruction kasi included in the packet na we have to file the form I-130 also but I read on your blog na you just filed for AOS.. Is it different po ba? We are planning kasi not to get a lawyer anymore so we are trying to figure things out.. I hope you will reply.. Do we have to get the form I-130 first for $420 and then followed by the AOS?? thank you po and God bless..

  8. Hi Meeyah!

I read your blogs from time to time but for now, may gusto sana akong ask if you can help.

As soon as may case number na ba, pwede na mag fill up ng Ds160 online and magbayad ng visa fee sa BPI? I’m having a hard time contacting the Embassy para makapag tanong. I was thinking, itatanong ang case number sa pag fill up online since hindi ko pa alam ang nakasulat dun at hindi ko pa din nabubuksan…

If you know any imformation, hopefully you can let me know. 🙂
Have a good day! Thanks! 🙂

I would like to hear from You! :)
